Virginia War Memorial
A crowd estimated at several hundred gathered at the Virginia War Memorial on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, the 65th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor (7 December 1941).
Council President Roy Martin’s address recalled the tragic events of that “day of infamy”, followed by the reading of the names of those Virginians who lost their lives during the attack on Sunday, 7 December 1941. A ship’s bell tolled in memory of and as a tribute to each of the deceased.
Members of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association were well-represented at today’s ceremony.
