A “WELL DONE !” To Our Siegel Center Volunteers !
|
| Once again the Navy League has completed a successful year manning a food booth during the VCU basketball season at the Siegel Center.
There were four teams, each made up of ten members, who worked in these booths, opening drinks, making popcorn, fixing hot dogs, etc. so that the spectators at the games would be able to purchase refreshments during half-time. They worked a total of 17 events.
There were several members on the substitute list – these men and women were available to fill in when needed. The teams worked efficiently in the booth and their efforts for the year brought in $6,762.51.
This group has been working the refreshment stand during the basketball season for seven years now. Their efforts have raised a sizable sum of money for the Navy League to be used to support the men and women in the sea services and to provide assistance for sea service families.

VOLUNTEERS – Siegel CENTER
We are looking for “stand by” volunteers for the Siegel Center.
One of the many activities we engage in to raise funds is the staffing of a concession stand at the Siegel Center during the VCU basketball season.
We have four teams each comprising ten volunteers who man the stand at VCU basketball home games and special events at the Seigal Center. There are sixteen games during the regular season. Each team works four games.
On occasions due to sickness or other circumstances members of the teams are unable to meet their commitment. Therefore, at these times we rely on other members to fill these positions on a temporary basis.
Currently we are looking for people who are willing to become “stand by” volunteers to fill these positions when they occur. As the Siegel Center project is a major contributor to the Councils fund raising activities we wish to encourage members to support us by becoming a “stand by” volunteer.
To become a “stand by” volunteer please contact Toady Redford at:
