Sea Cadets America Division - Richmond area​

The Richmond Navy League Council established the America Division Sea Cadet program in the Richmond area in 1968 and it has been in operation for 54 years. The typical participation has been about 35 cadets per year. An estimated 1,855 cadets have passed through the program. The Richmond Navy League provides about $4,000 per year to support the America Division Sea Cadets and to recognize outstanding cadets.

Junior Reserve Officer Training Program (JROTC)

The Richmond Navy League Council supports nine Richmond area Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) programs, five Navy and four Marine Corps. Our participation began with Highland Springs High School which implemented a Marine Corps JROTC program 1985. In 1993, Varina High School implemented the first Richmond area Navy JROTC program.  About 600 to 700 cadets participate in the nine programs each year. The Richmond Navy League provides about $1,600 per year to support the JROTC programs and to recognize outstanding cadets.
